Jeudi 16 mai 2019, les élèves ont participé à des animations autour du vélo dans le cadre de la « semaine de la marche et du vélo ». Dès le plus jeune âge, il est essentiel de montrer l’exemple aux enfants pour qu’ils s’imprègnent des règles de prudence lors de leurs déplacements mais aussi de valoriser ce moyen de déplacement : bon pour la santé et la planète.
Cette journée a été organisée à l’initiative de l’équipe enseignante et avec le soutien de l’association de l’A.P.E.L.
L’unité de prévention de sécurité routière représentée par Mme Leliard est intervenue au sein de chacune des classes. Auprès des CE et CM pour sensibiliser les élèves aux consignes de sécurité : avoir un vélo en bon état et respecter le code de la route.
Elle a ensuite proposé un parcours matérialisé sur la cour de récréation aux élèves de la PS jusqu’au CP. Ils ont pu s’entrainer à se déplacer en vélo en respectant les règles de sécurité du code de la route.
Le club Cyclo de Plancoët, réprésenté par Mr Fillion (éducateur diplômé) et 2 adhérents du club, a pris en charge les élèves de CE et CM en leur proposant un parcours de « gym cana » sur le parking de l’école, réservé à cet effet.
Les enfants ont pu exercer leur habileté dans le maniement du vélo.
Le vélo de chaque enfant a été vérifié. 
Cette étape a été d’autant plus importante que l’après midi, les élèves de CM ont profité d’une promenade à vélo entre Matignon et St Cast. Cette promenade de 12 km a été encadrée de façon très consciencieuse par le gendarme de Matignon « Mr Cornu » chargé de la prévention auprès des élèves du secteur, le club de cyclo et enfin plusieurs parents qui se sont mobilisés pour cet évènement.
Une journée bien remplie et très appréciée par l’ensemble des élèves et des accompagnateurs ! Tout le monde est d’accord pour prévoir le renouvellement de cette opération .
